Coupa Unveils Coupa Compose for Enterprise AI Spend Management

Share

Coupa announced the launch of its new AI automation platform, Coupa Compose, which will enable enterprises to build, operate and orchestrate digital AI agent workforces for procurement, financial and supply chain activities. This announcement, represents an expansion of Coupa’s autonomous spend management platform into agentic AI for automating business processes.

The new offering combines AI orchestration tools, governance controls, and outcome-based pricing with dedicated transformation services, including forward deployed engineers (FDEs) and solution architects, to help enterprises accelerate AI adoption and operational execution.

“Coupa AI is fundamentally different from anything else in the market. While others are bolting AI onto aging systems, we have one platform that scales — with governance — for your data, your workflows, and your agents. This architecture, built on a foundation of $10T in spend data, is why we can say we are AI-native,” said Leagh Turner, Coupa CEO. “We are helping our customers build a digital workforce where AI works for people to orchestrate and execute at unprecedented scale, with trust. This is our moment to move at speed, and reshape the workforce of the future for the better using agentic AI.”

Coupa Compose Introduces Agentic-as-a-Service Capabilities

Coupa Compose is designed to support agent-led orchestration across enterprise spend management functions while maintaining governance, transparency, and operational oversight. The platform includes several integrated capabilities aimed at simplifying AI deployment and workflow automation.

One of the core components is Navi Agent Studio, scheduled for general availability in May. The no-code environment enables organizations to create and configure custom AI agents using natural language inputs. Enterprises can also monitor agent activity and manage role-based access controls from a centralized interface.

Coupa has also introduced Smart Intake & Orchestration, which serves as a unified intake layer for requests and workflows. The system automatically coordinates processes across AI agents, enterprise systems, and human teams while preserving contextual data within Coupa’s system of record.

To extend interoperability across enterprise environments, Navi Connect enables communication between third-party AI agents and external systems. The integration layer supports complex cross-platform actions, including real-time ERP updates and agent-to-agent collaboration.

“To win in the agentic era, your ability to absorb change must match the speed of the technology,” said Salvatore Lombardo, Coupa Chief Product and Technology Officer. “With Coupa Compose, we are empowering our customers to easily build, deploy, orchestrate and connect agentic AI through our core platform—no migrations, no new code, just instant AI agent activation grounded in our proprietary dataset that generates business outcomes others can’t match.”

Expanded AI Agent Portfolio Targets Procurement and Supply Chain Efficiency

As part of the launch, Coupa has expanded its catalog of specialized AI agents across sourcing, procurement, and risk management functions. The company now offers more than 20 persona-based AI agents powered by insights derived from Coupa’s aggregated spend data ecosystem.

New additions in the May product release include AI agents for sourcing event creation, bid comparison, sanctions monitoring, risk analysis, opportunity assessment, and scenario ranking. According to Coupa, these tools are designed to streamline complex workflows, reduce setup times, and uncover operational efficiencies at scale.

Coupa Catalyst Services Aim to Accelerate AI Transformation

In addition to the technology platform, Coupa introduced Coupa Catalyst AI transformation services to help enterprises operationalize agentic AI initiatives more effectively. The service model combines technical expertise, process consulting, and workforce transformation guidance to support organizations deploying hybrid human-and-AI operational models.

The Catalyst program includes dedicated Forward-Deployed Engineers, business consultants, and AI specialists who work directly with enterprise teams to bridge the gap between AI capabilities and measurable business outcomes.

“Coupa Compose, together with our Catalyst AI workshops and transformation strategies, is a revelatory way to help all our customers accelerate strong business outcomes with agentic AI,” said Lombardo. “Couple this with our leading AI-native platform that includes domain specific language models with Rossum, and strategic partnerships, and we’re uniquely capable of helping customers realize tremendous business outcomes in their AI journeys.”

With the launch of Coupa Compose, the company is positioning itself to help enterprises move beyond isolated AI experimentation and toward fully orchestrated, scalable AI-powered business operations.
