Levata Acquires POSDATA to Expand Payment Technologies

Share

Levata, a provider of data capture, data management, and lifecycle technology solutions across North America and Europe, has announced the acquisition of POSDATA Group, a prominent distributor and deployment partner specializing in enterprise payment technologies.

The acquisition strengthens Levata’s position in the payment technology sector by adding compliance-focused and service-intensive capabilities that support enterprise customers across industries such as retail, hospitality, and specialty retail. As part of the transaction, POSDATA’s operations and customer base will be fully integrated into Levata’s technology platform.

Expanding into a High-Compliance Payments Market

The move marks Levata’s entry into a specialized segment of the technology industry where regulatory compliance, technical expertise, and long-term customer relationships are critical success factors.

POSDATA serves as an authorized distributor for leading payment terminal manufacturers, including Verifone, Ingenico, Equinox, PAX, and ID TECH. The company also operates a certified encryption key injection facility in Louisville, Kentucky, enabling secure payment terminal deployment and compliance with PCI standards.

Its portfolio includes:

  • Payment terminal deployment and configuration
  • Remote and on-site key injection services
  • Advance exchange programs
  • Inventory pool management
  • Device lifecycle and support services

These capabilities create significant barriers to entry due to the specialized certifications, secure infrastructure, and technical expertise required to operate within the payment ecosystem.

“Payment technology is a segment where compliance requirements and service complexity make the partner relationship genuinely long-term,” said Daniel Nettesheim, Chief Executive Officer of Levata. “POSDATA has built exactly the kind of trusted, technically specialized business that enterprise customers in retail and hospitality rely on. Adding that capability to Levata’s platform means we can serve those customers more completely, and more durably, than we could before.”

Strengthening Retail and Hospitality Solutions

The acquisition is well in line with Levata’s plan to increase its activities in the retail and hospitality industries where payment terminals are considered the most important operational infrastructure.

Large multi-outlet stores and hospitality chains often maintain huge networks of payment terminals across hundreds and thousands of locations. Such installations need all-round services covering everything from purchasing and setting up to compliance monitoring, rolling out, upkeep, and device replacement schemes.

With POSDATA‘s know-how Levata can now provide clients a highly detailed technology solution merging payment infrastructure with the existing ones in automatic identification and data capture (AIDC), mobility, and networking technologies.

“POSDATA is a natural extension of what Levata does for enterprise customers,” said JD Hupp, Chief Commercial Officer of Levata. “Our retail and hospitality customers already trust us to manage their AIDC, mobility, and networking infrastructure. Being able to add payment terminals to that relationship, with the compliance and service capabilities POSDATA brings, removes a meaningful reason for those customers to work with anyone else.”

Building a Broader Enterprise Technology Platform

The acquisition reflects Levata’s broader growth strategy of acquiring companies with specialized technical expertise, compliance-driven services, and strong customer relationships in adjacent technology markets.

POSDATA has established itself as a trusted partner within the payment technology industry, serving more than 800 enterprise customers through its focus on reliability, technical support, and compliance management.

By integrating POSDATA’s capabilities, Levata further expands its ability to deliver end-to-end enterprise technology solutions while strengthening customer retention through highly specialized service offerings.

Continued Acquisition-Driven Growth

The transaction represents another milestone in Levata’s long-term expansion strategy. Since 2014, the company has deployed more than $400 million across over 20 acquisitions, building a comprehensive enterprise technology solutions platform that spans data capture, mobility, networking, lifecycle services, and now payment technology infrastructure.

With the addition of POSDATA Group, Levata is positioned to offer a broader range of mission-critical services to enterprise customers while expanding its footprint in the growing payments technology market.
