Numos Secures Seed Funding to Deliver Transparent AI for Enterprise Finance Teams

Share

Numos raised $4.25 million in seed funding led by General Trigger and operator Collective. The platform is built for enterprise finance teams and works directly with accounting systems, billing platforms, data warehouses, and spreadsheets. And it runs continuous analysis of transactions to support faster, more strategic decisions – Mostly when data flows across multiple tools. That’s a big shift from relying on manual workarounds. Finance operations are growing more complex – Gartner says embedded AI could cut financial close time by 30% by 2028. But CFOs hesitate, data integrity, integration pain points, and opaque AI models remain key barriers. Most still pull insights from scattered tools manually.

Teams keep using spreadsheets and legacy software to build reports, no single source of truth exists. Many don’t trust AI because they can’t see how it processes or evaluates data. Without full visibility into logic or outcomes, decisions feel uncertain. The platform helps bridge gaps between disconnected systems without replacing human judgment entirely, just adding real-time insight where it matters most.

Numos tackles these problems by coordinating business context among isolated systems and offering an explicative view of the reasons for financial changes. It is committed to transparency by including comprehensive origins, explanations, and audit trails in all workflows–from variance analysis and reconciliations through quote-to-cash processes. Consequently, businesses using Numos experience an 80% decrease in time spent planning and analyzing finances (FP&A), and a major reduction in close times as well.

“AI has enormous potential in finance, but adoption will only happen if teams can understand and verify the outputs,” said Parijat Sarkar, CEO and co-founder of Numos. “Finance teams aren’t just analyzing numbers, they’re accountable for them. Numos enables the work while keeping every step transparent and auditable.”

“The future of finance isn’t one AI tool, it’s a team of AI agents working alongside your finance team,” said Mitul Tiwari, CTO and Co-Founder of Numos. “Numos orchestrates specialized agents that understand financial context, automate repetitive workflows, and continuously evaluate their outputs. By coordinating these agents across existing finance systems, we transform fragmented processes like reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting into automated workflows that execute reliably at scale.”

The platform is already gaining strong traction among enterprise customers, including high-growth private companies and public organizations such as Dandy and Udemy. This momentum underscores the increasing demand for AI solutions that deliver both performance and trust.

“Numos bridges the gap between siloed financial data and actionable insights within our complex operating environment,” said Kelly Templeton, Director of Finance at Udemy. “Having AI that works within our established systems to surface key drivers has empowered our team to make faster, more confident decisions during our close cycles.”

“Parijat and Mitul bring firsthand experience building in and alongside the office of the CFO, giving them a deep understanding of how demanding and nuanced finance workflows truly are,” said Yuri Sagalov, Managing Director at General Catalyst. “We love backing technical founders tackling complex, underserved problems, and Numos is purpose-built to deliver trusted, measurable results for finance teams.”

Founded by Parijat Sarkar and Mitul Tiwari, Numos brings together deep expertise across finance, enterprise AI, and large-scale data systems. Sarkar previously served as a senior vice president at Zenefits, where he held leadership roles spanning product, growth, and engineering. Tiwari, who holds a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin, has spent over a decade developing advanced AI systems at LinkedIn and ServiceNow.

Besides that, the company counts on an experienced advisory board for support. Sue Taylor, a former Chief Accounting Officer at Meta, and Kieran Snyder, the Vice President of AI Transformation at Microsoft, are two of the board members. With the recent financing round, Numos intends to boost its efforts in product development and enlarge the engineering team capable of servicing the growing requirements of other businesses.
