WisdomTree and Halo Launch Defined Outcome SMA Strategy to Expand Advisor Portfolio Solutions

WisdomTree, Inc. a global financial innovation company, and Halo Investing, Inc. (“Halo”) have declared the formal unveiling of the Halo-WisdomTree Structured Income Strategy that is a separate managed account (SMA) with a defined outcome feature uniquely designed to relocate income generation, the upgradation of risk-adjusted returns, and offer downside protection with a buffer. The new strategy launch marks another of the regular expansions of the company’s commitment to widen investment solution platform beyond traditional ETFs.

Creating scalable model portfolios and SMA strategies, the company wants to equip financial advisors with more flexible instruments to deal with different market conditions. Defined outcome strategies are among the wealth management segments that are experiencing rapid growth.

Many times, advisors are in the search of solution whereby client’s stock market arrival is there while risk exposure remains limited through well-defined risk parameters. From WisdomTree’s perspective, this segment is a major product innovation and long-term AUM growth opportunity, especially as advisors lean towards portfolio construction that is holistic in nature.

The new offering merges the asset allocation skills of WisdomTree with the structured note expertise of Halo. It undergoes a quarterly rebalancing process that employs WisdomTree Asset Management, Inc.s model portfolio framework as well as Halos income-oriented structured notes. The goal is to provide a style of investment akin to institutional-level ETFs-based model portfolios while also incorporating elements of yield increase and principal safety.

The Halo-WisdomTree Structured Income Strategy is overseen by Dennis Monohan, Head of Investment Solutions at Halo. Strategic allocation and model portfolio guidance are provided by Joe Tenaglia, Director of Model Portfolios at WisdomTree. The strategy invests across U.S., international, and emerging markets and is offered as an SMA exclusively through the Halo platform.

WisdomTree has also been strengthening its presence in the SMA market through additional collaborations. One recent initiative includes working with Quorus Inc. to offer WisdomTree investment strategies in a tax-efficient SMA format, giving advisors more flexibility in portfolio construction.
