Anthropic has announced a major expansion of its Claude for Financial Services suite, introducing a new Excel add-in, enhanced real-time data connectors, and specialized Agent Skills for core financial modeling and research tasks. These updates further strengthen Claude’s role as an intelligent copilot for finance professionals by automating complex workflows and improving access to critical market insights.
The launch builds on the strong performance of Claude Sonnet 4.5, which recently achieved 55.3% accuracy on Vals AI’s Finance Agent benchmark, setting a new standard for financial AI performance.
At the center of this update is Claude for Excel, now available in beta for Max, Enterprise, and Teams users. The add-in embeds Claude directly into Microsoft Excel, where it can read, analyze, and modify workbooks all while explaining its actions transparently. Users can ask Claude to debug formulas, populate templates, or generate entirely new financial models such as discounted cash flows or sensitivity tables.

Anthropic also expanded Claude’s connectivity to live data through integrations with major platforms including LSEG, Moody’s, Aiera, Third Bridge, Chronograph, and MT Newswires. These connectors enable access to real-time financial data, market news, credit ratings, and expert analysis all within a secure, governed environment.
Additionally, six new Agent Skills have been introduced, covering key financial tasks such as comparable company analysis, DCF modeling, earnings analysis, and initiating coverage reports.
Claude is being adopted in banking, asset management, insurance, and fintech. With these upgrades, Anthropic wants Claude to be an essential partner for financial professionals. It will help them turn raw data into actionable insights more quickly and accurately.
