Reddit Introduces Pro Tools for Publishers to Expand Reach and Drive Reader Engagement

Share

Reddit, now home to more than 110 million daily active users, has unveiled Reddit Pro tools for publishers, a new suite of features designed to help media organizations share content, monitor performance, and engage audiences directly within its platform.

The tools, currently in beta, are part of Reddit Pro, the company’s free growth toolkit for businesses. Publishers testing the new features gain access to a dedicated “Links” tab, offering three core capabilities:

  • Article insights: Track where stories are shared, analyze performance across views, upvotes, and clicks, and refine distribution strategies.

  • Auto-import: Sync RSS feeds to make new stories instantly available on Reddit Pro.

  • Community recommendations: Receive AI-driven suggestions on which Reddit communities are best suited for sharing content.

Early testing has included outlets such as The Atlantic, The Hill, NBC News, and The Associated Press. Reddit is now opening applications for broader beta participation, with plans for global rollout next year.

At a time when traditional referral traffic is shifting, Reddit has become an increasingly important channel for publishers. “Reddit has been a valuable, vibrant community for The Hill, and Reddit Pro gave us the tools to engage with our readers who previously weren’t hearing from us directly on the platform,” said Sarakshi Rai, Deputy Managing Editor at The Hill. “The platform has also become our top social referral traffic source, accounting for a rise of social media traffic to the site.”

Alongside Pro tools, Reddit is also testing an enhanced link viewing experience. Users will be able to open articles directly in the Reddit app and swipe up to view or join comment threads, creating a seamless blend of reading and discussion.

With these updates, Reddit aims to strengthen its role as a hub for real-time conversations around news and culture, helping publishers connect with engaged readers while fostering deeper, community-driven dialogue.
