JPMorgan Chase & Co. has rolled out its new Data Security Center in several stages, a privacy and account-management portal that allows retail banking clients to have detailed insight and control over sharing of their financial data with third-party fintech apps.
The new integrated natively within the Chase Mobile app, has a dashboard that encompasses third-party permissioning controls. The initiative responded to rising consumer appetite for open banking transparency, allowing account holders to review data connections, modify sharing controls, and grant or rescind third-party software access.
Centralizing Financial Data Controls Within the Mobile Workspace
As consumers increasingly connect checking, savings, and credit accounts with external budgeting software, investment tools, and payment services, tracking data distribution across disparate platforms has become complex.

The Data Security Center modernizes Chase‘s data governance architecture by replacing fragmented account-linking settings with a single management console. Through the centralized hub, account holders can evaluate data access requests, modify sharing duration, and revoke permissions for specific third-party integrations without leaving the Chase Mobile app.
Key operational features and management capabilities built into the Data Security Center include:
Connected App Visibility: Displays an overview of every external software platform, budgeting tool, and fintech app linked to Chase accounts.
Granular Permission Controls: Allows users to select specific eligible accounts for data sharing while restricting access to other financial holdings.
Duration & Revocation Management: Enables customers to adjust how long third-party platforms retain access to their financial data or instantly unlink connections.
Integrated Educational Resources: Provides plain-language guides, data privacy best practices, and interactive FAQs to help customers evaluate third-party app trust and security.
Executive Insights on Financial Privacy and Open Banking Governance
“Customers should be in control of their financial data, and that starts with giving them a clear view of where it’s going and straightforward tools to manage it,” said Melissa Feldsher, Head of Payments, Trust & Security and Open Banking at Chase. “The Data Security Center empowers customers to understand what’s connected, see what information is being shared and make informed decisions about those connections over time.”
Advancing Secure Open Banking Infrastructure
The rollout represents an evolution in how major financial institutions govern consumer permissioned data sharing. By consolidating previously scattered account-linking controls into an intuitive mobile interface, Chase equips customers with the governance tools required to navigate third-party digital financial services safely.
The Data Security Center is rolling out incrementally to Chase Mobile app users across the United States. Chase recommends that customers regularly review active app permissions, share account information only with trusted platforms, and utilize the new security center to manage ongoing data connections.
