Advisors Asset Management (AAM) and global financial services firm Wilshire have announced a partnership to launch the AAM Wilshire Infrastructure Fund . This new product allows individual investors to benefit from private infrastructure investments, an investment category that has largely been available only to large institutional investors.
Sun Life Financial Inc. a global financial services firm that manages around $1.2 trillion of assets, has agreed to provide $150 million in seed capital for the fund’s initial launch.
Taking advantage of Global Megatrends in Small and Mid-Market Infrastructure
The AAM Wilshire Infrastructure Fund aims to develop a diversified portfolio of global infrastructure assets that are in line with major long-term structural changes. The changes are energy transition, transportation updates, digital infrastructure expansion, and social infrastructure projects.
The fund also plans to gain market access to small- and middle-market levels that other funds are missing by using niche deals, hands-on value creation strategies, and lower competitor intensity.
This new investment vehicle offers these main operational features:
Multi-Format Exposure: Diversifies investments across primary infrastructure funds, secondary market transactions, and co-investment opportunities to mitigate the risks connected to particular managers, sectors, or strategies.
Institutional-Grade Co-Investment: Grants access to infrastructure mandates that Wilshire typically uses for its large-scale institutional clients.
Simplified Investor Tax Reporting: Brings Form 1099 tax documents instead of the more complex Schedule K-1, easing the tax reporting process.
Accessible Evergreen Structure: Acts as an interval fund permitting daily purchases, with a minimum $5,000 investment and no capital call requirements after initial purchase.

“Private infrastructure has delivered compelling risk-adjusted returns for institutional investors for decades, yet access within the broader wealth channel has remained limited,” said Cliff Corso, Chief Executive Officer and President of Advisors Asset Management. “The AAM Wilshire Infrastructure Fund helps bridge that gap. Through our partnership with Wilshire, we are providing access to private infrastructure through an interval fund structure designed to meet the needs of individual investors.”
“We believe the world is at a pivotal moment, as powerful megatrends drive a significant need for new and upgraded infrastructure,” said Jason Schwarz, Chief Executive Officer of Wilshire. “The AAM Wilshire Infrastructure Fund is designed to capture opportunities arising from these trends. We are excited to bring our decades of private markets expertise to a broader range of investors.”
Deep Private Markets Infrastructure and Institutional Heritage
Sub-advised by Wilshire, the fund draws on the firm’s four decades of private market investment history. Wilshire currently oversees approximately $1.3 trillion in assets under advisement and manages $33.2 billion in alternative assets. By making institutional-grade deal flow available through an interval fund, the collaboration connects wealth advisors and retail investors directly to private market opportunities.
