Airwallex Brings High-Yield Treasury Solution to U.S. Businesses as Global Assets Top $1 Billion

Share

Airwallex has launched its Yield treasury solution for U.S. customers. This tool helps businesses earn returns on idle funds. The announcement comes as the company reports over $1 billion in global assets under administration. This reflects strong adoption since its initial launch in Australia more than two years ago.

The Yield offering allows companies to transfer funds directly from their Airwallex balances into an AAA-rated money market fund managed by J.P. Morgan Asset Management. Designed to provide an alternative to traditional low-interest business savings accounts, the solution offers competitive daily returns while maintaining liquidity that finance teams can access quickly when needed.

Unlike many treasury products that require fixed holding periods, Airwallex Yield provides flexible access to funds, with no minimum lock-up requirements and settlement times that generally return funds to cash balances in under two business hours. This structure enables companies to allocate surplus capital overnight and move it back into operational use for payroll, vendor payments, or other expenses.

Adoption has been particularly strong among small and midsize businesses, especially firms generating less than $10 million in annual revenue. Many customers treat Yield similarly to a savings account, using it as a simple way to keep excess cash productive without complicating treasury operations. At the same time, a large portion of funds are held in U.S. dollars as companies look to protect capital from currency fluctuations and broader economic uncertainty.

“Topping $1 billion is a testament to the demand for a new kind of banking experience – one that is global, digital-first, and institutional-grade,” said Jack Zhang, co-founder and CEO of Airwallex. “With the launch of Yield in the U.S., we are closing the gap in the market for a unified platform. We are giving U.S. businesses a seamless way to operate across currencies, while ensuring their working capital is actively generating value, not sitting in an idle account.”

The treasury tool is fully integrated into the Airwallex platform, allowing businesses to manage payments, foreign exchange transactions, corporate cards, and treasury activity from a single dashboard. Following a successful beta period earlier this year, U.S. customers can now activate the Yield feature directly through their existing Airwallex accounts.
