Americana Partners, an independent wealth advisory firm managing more than $12.1* billion in assets announced that Mike Mitchell has joined the executive leadership team as Chief Financial Officer in the firm’s Houston office.
With 35 years of experience in the financial services industry, Mitchell will oversee the firm’s financial strategy and provide leadership across its financial operations as Americana Partners continues to expand nationally from its Houston headquarters. He will be responsible for ensuring disciplined financial management across the organization, with areas of focus including revenue growth, expense management, margin expansion, liquidity planning, M&A activity, legal oversight, and shareholder relations.

Prior to joining Americana Partners, Mitchell served as Chief Financial Officer at Merit Financial Advisors in Alpharetta, Georgia, where he played a key role in the firm’s strategic growth. During his tenure, Merit completed more than 30 M&A transactions and successfully recapitalized the firm with a new private equity sponsor. Earlier in his career, he held progressive leadership roles with several Fortune 500 companies, including Toyota Financial Services, Wachovia Bank, and AT&T, and has served as Chief Financial Officer for multiple private equity-backed businesses, helping guide organizations through periods of growth and transformation while positioning them for successful private equity exits.

Mitchell earned a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Florida State University. He is also actively involved in charitable and educational initiatives and serves on the board of Admiral Farragut Academy, where he is Chairman of the Finance Committee and Treasurer.
