m3ter Introduces m3sh Workflows to Simplify Automation for Usage-Based Pricing

Share

m3ter has announced the launch of m3sh Workflows, a new automation capability designed to help software companies more easily operationalize usage-based and hybrid pricing models. Unveiled in London, the solution streamlines connections between critical monetization systems—such as Salesforce and NetSuite—and m3ter’s usage-based pricing platform, reducing billing complexity and operational risk.

As more software providers move beyond traditional subscriptions, many face limitations within legacy CRM and ERP systems that were never built to support usage-driven models. Replacing these systems is often costly and disruptive, yet attempting to layer usage-based pricing on top can lead to billing errors, revenue leakage, and slow manual processes. m3sh Workflows is intended to bridge that gap by automating data movement and business logic across the quote-to-cash lifecycle.

“m3sh Workflows is the latest enhancement to our solution to enable software companies to deliver the hybrid and usage-based pricing options they need to improve, pricing agility, faster product launches, and increased revenue.” — Griffin Parry, m3ter CEO

The new capability allows operationally mature software companies to compete more effectively with AI-native firms that already rely heavily on consumption-based pricing. Acting as an invisible infrastructure layer, m3ter provides three critical components often missing from traditional systems: scalable usage data processing, advanced rating logic, and automated data flows between monetization tools. With m3sh Workflows, customers gain greater flexibility in defining how complex processes run across CRM, billing, and finance environments.

Built on an API-first, event-driven architecture, m3ter integrates with existing enterprise systems rather than replacing them. This approach enables near real-time usage tracking and accurate billing while preserving established workflows and systems of record.

Originally developed internally by m3ter to support custom customer implementations, m3sh Workflows is now being made available directly to users. The product offers two modes: a read mode that allows visibility into existing automations, and a write mode that empowers teams to design and modify workflows themselves.

“m3ter delivered roadmap acceleration across our entire quote-to-cash process, which underpins our ability to sell the right products in the right way and in the right places,” said Isaac DeLuca, Chief Accounting Officer at Matillion. “Now, m3sh Workflows gives us even more control of how we configure and automate complex business process logic so we can go even quicker.”

The platform supports low- and no-code automation, visual workflow design, and full API connectivity. Typical use cases include synchronizing customer records between systems, triggering alerts when usage thresholds are reached, and automatically updating contracts or pricing plans based on external system events.

With usage-based pricing now adopted by a significant portion of B2B SaaS companies, m3ter’s latest launch aims to remove one of the biggest operational barriers—helping software providers scale modern pricing strategies with speed, accuracy, and confidence.
