Nuvei and BlackLine Team Up to Modernize Invoice-to-Cash Operations Through Embedded Payments

Share

World payment technology leader Nuvei and financial operations platform BlackLine  have decided to go together and bring payment acceptance functionalities right through BlackLine’s invoice-to-cash platform.

Together, the two companies have created a product of their own combining BlackLine’s features of invoice presentment and cash application with Nuvei’s global payment processing network which is able to offer a single workflow. The workflow enables B2B buyers to make payment for digital invoices immediately upon receiving them while all payments will be matched and reconciled without any delay on the fly.

Connecting Invoicing with the Payment Settlement

On one hand accounts billing, and financial reports have pretty much gone completely cloud-native, but B2B payment is still a completely separate thing from the core accounting workflows. This gap quite often results in longer periods of Days of Sales Outstanding (DSO), extensive manual efforts to match cash, and decreased working capital tracking visibility.

The integration of the payment processing capability at BlackLine’s presentment interface will help enterprise finances departments manage billing, payment collections, and accounts in a completely unified environment using one platform only.

The integrated solution offers several operational capabilities:

Omnichannel Acceptance: Allows buyers to settle invoices using credit cards, direct bank transfers, and local payment rails directly from the invoice interface.

Automated Cash Application: Matches incoming funds to open receivables without manual data entry.

Real-Time Cash Visibility: Provides finance leaders with immediate tracking of payment statuses and liquidity positions.

Centralized Buyer Portal: Gives payers a single digital hub to review, inquire about, and settle outstanding balances.

Global Transaction Reach: Enables cross-border payment collection across 150 currencies in more than 190 markets natively within existing BlackLine environments.

“Payments should feel like a natural extension of the invoice-to-cash process, not a separate workflow,” said Phil Fayer, Chair and CEO of Nuvei. “Finance teams expect it to work inside the systems they already use to manage receivables, collections, and cash flow. By partnering with BlackLine, we are embedding Nuvei’s global payments infrastructure directly into those workflows to help enterprises accelerate collections, improve visibility, and reduce complexity.”

“Finance leaders are under increasing pressure to improve cash flow while operating more efficiently,” added Andy Liley, Managing Director, Invoice-to-Cash at BlackLine. “Offering flexibility in customer payment receipts plays a critical role in that process, yet it has often remained separate from the systems used to manage invoicing, collections, and receivables. This partnership brings those capabilities together, helping customers streamline invoice-to-cash operations while delivering a better payment experience.”

Embedding the Infrastructure as a Financing Foundation

Such (strategic partnership) also corresponds with the larger goal of enterprises to embed payment processing into core software suites rather than to keep payment gateways completely separate.

Unifying the transaction data across the lifecycle of the invoice gives the finance team members the ability to enhance the correctness of the ledger accounts, reduce the effort from their operational side, and have the right kind of control over the liquidity of the company. With direct integrations with applications like BlackLine the payment functionality is not only being offered but Nuvei is also continuing to increase the number of enterprise customers in the area by embedding this payment capability into the software that underlies contemporary financial operations.
