Healthcare technology provider Raintree opened its annual TherapyCon ’26 conference before an audience of more than 700 physical therapy executives, clinicians, and industry leaders, outlining a strategic expansion of its software ecosystem. During the opening keynote, titled “The Dawn of the Autonomous EMR,” Raintree CEO Nick Hedges debuted NoteIQ™ and SchedulerIQ™ alongside two specialized agentic artificial intelligence suites: Agentic PX™ for front-office workflow automation and Agentic RCM™ for revenue cycle management.
The product additions advance Raintree’s “Invisible EMR” roadmap, extending automation beyond documentation into operational and financial execution across physical therapy practices.
Addressing Workforce Shortages and Administrative Burnout
The expansion targets severe operational pressures facing the rehabilitation therapy industry. Industry data indicates that 57% of therapy practices currently cannot fulfill local patient demand, while the physical therapist workforce remains roughly 8.2% below baseline requirements. Compounding these access issues, inflation-adjusted compensation for physical therapists has declined approximately 10% over the past decade, driving higher turnover as clinicians struggle with administrative burdens and declining insurance reimbursement rates.
“Rehab therapy holds an outsized role in patients’ healthcare outcomes and long-term recovery. This profession is deeply personal, intensely physical, and profoundly relationship-focused,” Nick Hedges, CEO of Raintree, told the audience. “It will never be replaced by AI. The real risk is the opposite. The threat was never too few jobs — it is too few clinicians.”

Advancing the Invisible EMR: NoteIQ™ and Clinical Automation
Raintree’s ambient documentation solution, ScribeIQ™, launched in early 2025 and is currently utilized across more than 40% of evaluations logged on the platform, spanning over 100 enterprise client organizations.
Building on this foundation, Raintree introduced NoteIQ™, an advanced documentation engine designed to streamline clinical note completion. The software reduces initial evaluation documentation times from an average of 15–45 minutes down to under two minutes.
Compared to standard AI transcription tools, clinicians using NoteIQ™ sign initial evaluations 40% faster, decrease after-hours charting to under 3% of total visits, and capture more than $5.00 in additional realized revenue per patient visit.
“I have never spent less time on evals now that I’m using NoteIQ™, which is really, really awesome,” said a physical therapist at a multi-clinic practice that has been documenting with NoteIQ™. “I am finishing initial evaluations during the actual evaluation. I can be more attentive to patients because I’m not worrying about documentation.”
Front-Desk Automation: SchedulerIQ™ and Agentic PX™
To resolve scheduling bottlenecks that lead to unfilled appointment slots and lost practice revenue, Raintree launched SchedulerIQ™. The solution reduces multi-appointment plan-of-care booking times from 10–12 minutes down to one minute, cutting total scheduling steps by 60%.
Complementing this capability is Agentic PX™, a suite of autonomous conversational agents designed for patient communication. Raintree previewed the suite’s flagship voice agent, Marcy, a bilingual AI front-desk specialist operating 24/7/365. Marcy handles multi-step scheduling workflows, confirms insurance benefits, answers copay questions, re-engages dormant patients, and manages intake procedures while adhering to practice-specific operational rules.
Target performance benchmarks for Marcy include a 98% call response rate, a 30% reduction in patient no-shows, and the recovery of $90,000 to $185,000 in previously uncaptured annual clinic revenue.
Autonomous Financial Operations: Agentic RCM™
In response to persistent billing friction—where industry-wide claim denial rates average 13%—Raintree unveiled Agentic RCM™. Built as a multi-tiered architecture, the framework pairs human billing oversight with autonomous AI agents assigned to specific revenue cycle tasks.
The company introduced Lucy, an AI insurance eligibility specialist capable of navigating complex payer phone systems, searching insurer portals, processing clearinghouse data, and verifying coverage details prior to writing records directly into the electronic medical record (EMR). Key target performance metrics for Lucy include a 91% reduction in per-verification handling time and a 90% decrease in care rendered without confirmed insurance coverage.
The release follows Raintree’s July 2026 acquisition of voice AI developer Spike Technologies, which expanded Raintree’s AI Center of Excellence fivefold by integrating machine learning researchers and engineers from Google, Bloomberg, Oracle, and Amazon One Medical.
Governance and Compliance Standards
Raintree’s artificial intelligence models are trained on more than 7.3 billion domain-specific data points across clinical, operational, and financial workflows. Built with workflow-specific guardrails rather than open-ended conversational models, Raintree maintains SOC 2 Type II certification and provides the industry’s first ONC-certified EHR built specifically for rehabilitation therapy.
“We are not optimizing at the margins,” Nick Hedges said in closing. “Cutting costs and increasing revenue leads to more therapists, better pay, greater patient access, and practices that are economically viable for the long term. An EMR that is both invisible and autonomous is how we get there.”
