Sound Credit Union announced the appointment of Matthew Figueroa as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial & Risk Officer. Figueroa joins Sound’s executive leadership team with nearly 14 years of experience in the credit union and financial services industries.
Figueroa brings extensive expertise in treasury management, financial planning and strategy, profitability, budgeting, investments, and balance sheet optimization. His leadership and strategic vision will help guide Sound’s continued growth and support its position as one of Washington state’s strongest credit unions.
Prior to joining Sound, Figueroa served as Vice President, Treasurer & Investment Officer at Golden 1 Credit Union, in Sacramento, California. In that role, he oversaw treasury, investments, liquidity, derivatives, enterprise product pricing, capital and secondary markets, and balance sheet strategy for the $22 billion financial institution. He also served as a strategic advisor to the executive leadership team and business partners across the organization.
