Zelis Unveils ZAPP Edge℠ to Simplify and Strengthen Healthcare Provider Payments

Share

Zelis®, a top healthcare technology company, has launched ZAPP Edge℠. This new payments solution focuses on providers. Its goal is to modernize reimbursement workflows and enhance financial visibility in healthcare. The launch in Boston is a big step toward fixing long-standing payment process issues for medical providers.

Reimbursement in healthcare has often been scattered. Providers have to handle payments, remittance files, and denial data across different systems and payer portals. ZAPP Edge aims to replace that complexity with a unified experience. The solution brings ACH-enabled payments, detailed remittance information, and denial insights from hundreds of payers into a single, connected platform—turning what was once an administrative challenge into a more strategic financial function.

Rather than treating payments and data as separate or final outputs, ZAPP Edge integrates both elements to deliver actionable insight. By leveraging Zelis’ extensive network of more than 550 payers, the platform consolidates reimbursement activity while providing providers with the transparency needed to identify issues early, respond faster, and strengthen overall financial performance. As participation in the network expands, the value of the platform grows alongside it, reducing dependence on disconnected systems and manual spreadsheets.

“Providers today shoulder the cost of administrative complexity, driven by disconnected systems that slow reimbursement and limit insight,” said Yusuf Qasim, President of Payments Optimization at Zelis. “With ZAPP Edge, payments stop being a frustration and become a strategic advantage – helping providers gain visibility, efficiency, and control over their financial outcomes.”

The new offering is further strengthened by Zelis’ recent acquisition of Rivet®, a specialist in revenue cycle analytics. Rivet’s capabilities are embedded within ZAPP Edge, enhancing its ability to highlight denial patterns, surface payment discrepancies, and deliver clearer financial intelligence to provider organizations.

ZAPP Edge is built on the Zelis Advanced Payments Platform (ZAPP℠), a secure and scalable infrastructure that already connects more than 550 payers with approximately 850,000 providers nationwide. While ZAPP previously focused on modernizing how payers issue payments, ZAPP Edge extends that foundation by delivering direct, differentiated value to providers themselves.

With this launch, Zelis positions ZAPP Edge as a new benchmark in provider reimbursement—one that transforms financial operations from a back-office burden into a source of operational strength and competitive advantage.
