Informativ is using the NADA 2026 conference in Las Vegas to introduce two new products aimed at modernizing how automotive dealers and software providers structure and present vehicle financing. The Texas-based company has unveiled SmartPencil, a next-generation desking solution for dealers, alongside a Payments API designed to deliver real-time, lender-qualified payment data across digital automotive platforms.
SmartPencil is built to address the growing complexity of today’s vehicle transactions, where shifting lender rules, tighter compliance requirements, and rising consumer expectations leave little room for error. The tool helps desk managers quickly evaluate multiple lender scenarios, standardize deal structures, and reduce costly rewrites—without relying on individual institutional knowledge. By embedding lender criteria, compliance guardrails, and accurate payment calculations early in the process, SmartPencil aims to ensure faster, more consistent outcomes regardless of who is structuring the deal.
“SmartPencil gives desk managers the data and flexibility needed to win more deals in today’s high-stakes dealership environment by automatically recommending lender-qualified vehicles and deal structures,” said Michael Byrd, Chief Revenue Officer of Informativ.

Underpinning SmartPencil is Informativ’s new Payments API, an intelligent Payments-as-a-Service platform that delivers transaction-ready loan and lease payments in real time. While SmartPencil is offered directly to dealerships, the Payments API is targeted at automotive software vendors, enabling marketing tools, dealer websites, digital retailing platforms, and desking systems to present VIN-level, fundable payment offers with speed and accuracy.
“We’re excited to share with automotive software partners the power and flexibility of our Payments API,” said David Domm, Managing Partner, Payments. “Payments is a REST API that plugs into digital automotive platforms with ease and is built for real-time delivery and high-volume performance.”
Beyond payments and desking, Informativ is positioning the new tools as part of a broader effort to strengthen fraud prevention and regulatory compliance across the dealership workflow. According to CEO David Carner, the goal is to help both dealers and technology partners meet rising demands for precision and transparency. “With SmartPencil and our Payments API, we’re striving to help dealers and software vendors deliver faster, more accurate, and compliant deals and meeting the industry’s demand for smarter, more streamlined retailing.”
