Athelas Unveils AIR: A Next-Gen EHR with Built-In AI Scribing and Automated Revenue Cycle Management

Athelas, the healthcare technology innovator powered by Commure, has announced the launch of Athelas AIR, a new electronic health record (EHR) platform designed to modernize how providers manage patient care, billing, and documentation in one intelligent, unified system.

With Athelas AIR, healthcare practices – from large physical therapy groups to small and midsize clinics – gain real-time data access, integrated ambient scribing, and hands-free revenue cycle management (RCM). The system aims to reduce administrative burdens and boost margins, allowing clinicians to spend more time with patients and less time on paperwork.

Unlike traditional EHRs that simply digitize old processes, AIR was purpose-built from the ground up with AI and automation at its core. It connects seamlessly to the broader Athelas ecosystem, combining EHR functions, billing workflows, and advanced ambient documentation tools into a streamlined experience.

“When EHRs were first built, they simply digitized existing workflows, without rethinking how to make those workflows better,” said Tanay Tandon, CEO of Athelas. “What we’re left with today are systems that are digital, yes, but clunky, inefficient, and time-consuming. With AIR, we started from the bottom up. We reimagined the entire experience to create a seamless, intelligent workflow that empowers practices to grow, streamline care, and finally realize the promise of digital transformation in healthcare – a transformation that directly and positively impacts the bottom line.”

The company’s newest launch comes amid strong customer interest, with more than 100 clients set to adopt Athelas AIR in the coming months. Athelas is positioning AIR not just as another EHR solution, but as a key pillar in its vision of a fully integrated healthcare operating system – one that uses AI to simplify clinical and administrative tasks and unlock new efficiencies across the patient journey.
