Xero, a global small business platform, has revealed a multi-year strategic partnership with Anthropic, the company behind Claude. The partnership will not only bring integration of Claude’s AI capabilities straight into Xero but also allow Xero’s financial data and functionalities to be available in Claude.ai. Thus, this project aims to equip small businesses and their advisors with live financial information and the capability to act efficiently in their respective platforms without any hassle.
“Every day, millions of small business owners ask the same questions: Why is cash tight this month? Which invoices are overdue? Can I afford to hire?” said Diya Jolly, Chief Product & Technology Officer, Xero. “To run their business efficiently, small business owners and their accountants and bookkeepers need to be able to answer these questions and act on them in real time whether using Xero or Claude. This partnership delivers on that.”
The partnership marks the first time Xero customers will be able to interact with their financial data directly within a major AI platform. It also introduces a new approach to enabling end-to-end financial workflows, powered by Claude’s advanced reasoning capabilities.
For small businesses, this integration is expected to significantly reduce the time spent on manual financial tasks, such as tracking invoices or consolidating cash flow data across multiple reports. Instead, AI-driven insights will proactively surface key information and recommend actions, streamlining day-to-day financial management.

Key Capabilities of the Xero–Anthropic Integration
- Claude-Powered Automation in Xero
Users will have the capability to streamline their financial workflows including accounting, payroll, and payments. Powered by Claude’s reasoning engine, Xero’s AI helper named JAX will evaluate financial health, keep track of cash flow in real-time, recognize unpaid invoices, and provide the users with practical suggestions for getting better business results. - Xero Insights Embedded in Claude.ai
Users will have the ability to securely access and analyze their Xero financial data within Claude.ai. By combining internal financial metrics with external data such as market trends or business strategies, customers can evaluate scenarios, conduct planning exercises, and make informed decisions without switching between tools. Over time, the integration will also support one-click execution of end-to-end financial actions directly within Claude.ai.
Data security and responsible usage remain central to the partnership. Financial data shared between the two platforms is used only within the context of the user’s session and is not utilized to train Claude’s AI models, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with Xero’s data governance standards.

The integration of Claude-powered insights within Xero and the availability of Xero functionality inside Claude.ai are expected to roll out in the coming months.
