Thunes Joins Circle Payments Network to Advance Global Payment Interoperability

Share

Thunes joined Circle’s Payments Network for now – just one piece of the bigger puzzle. Clients can use USDC for settlement without ditching their old fiat routines. The move builds on last year’s work where USDC went live in thunes’ Direct Global Network. That setup helps manage cash flow better across over 140 nations. It doesn’t mean everything works perfectly yet. But it does open doors for smoother, faster payments in many places. By leveraging near real-time settlement with stablecoins, Thunes eliminates traditional banking constraints such as limited operating hours and the need for pre-funded local accounts, delivering 24/7 liquidity, improved capital efficiency, and seamless connectivity across billions of mobile wallets, bank accounts, and digital assets.

Chloé Mayenobe , Deputy CEO of Thunes, said: “Joining CPN Managed Payments is the next logical step on our journey toward true interoperability of the world’s payment systems. Our goal has always been to remove barriers to the movement of money. By strengthening our long-standing partnership with Circle, we are ensuring that, regardless of whether a customer uses a traditional bank account in Europe, a mobile wallet in Africa, or digital assets in Asia, the experience is fast, secure, and seamless. We are building the bridge between these worlds to power the future of the global economy.” Officer at Circle. Nikhil Chandhok , Chief Product and Technology Officer at Circle, stated: “Thunes brings extensive experience in global payments connectivity and operational scale. His background in diverse payment ecosystems provides us with valuable insights as we continue to develop Circle’s payments network and expand access to stablecoin-based settlement for financial institutions worldwide.”
