New research from International Data Corporation, IDC, sponsored by Outreach, underlines the increasing importance of agentic AI as a strategic necessity for the modern revenue organization. In its white paper, based on the survey responses of 612 large enterprises in the US and Europe, IDC finds that a full 68% of organizations surveyed are already scaling or optimizing AI across revenue functions, marking a clear inflection point in AI-driven sales execution. The researchers also note that tangible benefits include higher conversion rates, reduced manual work, faster onboarding, and improved forecasting accuracy.

As noted in the report, “The rise of agentic AI is transforming revenue operations from a patchwork of manual tasks into a system of intelligent, autonomous orchestration.” The study also highlights the critical role of managers, stating that “frontline managers are emerging as critical catalysts behind agentic AI adoption in revenue organizations. Nearly half of all adoption efforts (44%) are led by managers who weave AI into daily sales workflows.” Michelle Morgan, Research Manager at IDC, added, “Agentic AI represents a structural change in how revenue teams operate,” though concerns around security, reliability, and human oversight remain key considerations for enterprise adoption.
