S&P Global together with Cambridge Associates and Mercer are the providers of their first Private Markets Performance Analytics datasets which have jointly come to the market, signaling an important milestone in their aim to standardize data in the highly fragmented private markets environment. The datasets run on S&P Global’s iLEVEL platform and offer a wide range of anonymized insights into private credit and real assets. It is planned to add more asset classes such as private equity in the course of 2026.

The product uses an internal classification system to produce consistent and comparable whole set of metrics, thereby making it possible for both limited and general partners to improve their capabilities in performance assessment, risk management, and investment decision-making. “As private markets evolve, the need for consistent, decision-ready intelligence has never been greater,” said Saugata Saha. The datasets are designed to help investors analyze trends, understand portfolio impacts, and make more informed allocation decisions. By transforming disparate data into actionable intelligence, the initiative aims to enhance transparency and efficiency in private markets, supporting faster and more confident capital deployment across institutional portfolios.
