RedBlack has introduced a new integration with CAIS designed to simplify alternative investment trading and portfolio management for financial advisors. The partnership enables advisors to access, allocate, and manage alternative investments directly within RedBlack’s rebalancing and trading platform.
The integration makes RedBlack the first order management and rebalancing platform to support integrated alternatives trading through CAIS, helping advisory firms reduce operational complexity while improving workflow efficiency.
As advisors continue increasing client exposure to alternative assets, many firms face challenges tied to disconnected systems, manual processes, and limited visibility into investment activity. The RedBlack and CAIS integration addresses these issues by consolidating alternatives management into a single workflow alongside traditional investment operations.
Through the integrated platform, advisors can access available CAIS funds directly within RedBlack while leveraging automated straight-through processing and real-time order tracking. The solution also helps preserve portfolio allocation targets and available cash balances, ensuring investment strategies remain aligned during alternatives execution.

“Advisors want access to alternatives without introducing new operational hurdles,” said Brendan Cuddihy, Chief Operating Officer at CAIS. “By integrating with RedBlack’s rebalancing and trading management tools into the CAIS platform, advisors can more easily allocate, transact, and monitor alternatives alongside traditional investments.”
The API integration was jointly developed by RedBlack and CAIS to help streamline operational processes across the alternatives investment ecosystem and improve scalability for advisory firms.
With the new integration, advisors can:
- Access CAIS investment funds directly within the RedBlack platform
- Create alternatives orders using models, manual entries, imported orders, or global trade actions
- Apply compliance and allocation controls used for traditional securities to alternative investments
- Submit new and add-on subscriptions for existing CAIS positions
- Monitor CAIS order status directly through RedBlack’s trade blotter for enhanced visibility
“As advisors increase allocations to alternatives, operational complexity has become one of the biggest barriers to scale,” said Jennifer Valdez, Chief Revenue Officer of RedBlack. “This integration with CAIS brings alternatives directly into the rebalancing and trading workflow advisors already rely on, while preserving allocation intent, compliance controls and execution efficiency. It’s a meaningful step forward in unifying portfolio management across asset classes.”
The collaboration reflects growing demand for integrated wealth management technologies that enable advisors to manage both traditional and alternative investments through a unified platform while improving operational efficiency and portfolio oversight.
