Gainsight Acquires Skilljar to Expand AI-Powered Customer Education Capabilities

Gainsight, a leading platform for customer success management, has announced its acquisition of Seattle-based startup Skilljar, a company known for its AI-driven learning management system tailored for external training. The move is aimed at strengthening Gainsight’s offering by embedding scalable, personalized learning experiences directly into its customer success platform.

Skilljar, founded in 2013 by former Amazon employees Sandi Lin and Jason Stewart, enables businesses to design and deliver customized training and certification programs for customers and partners. The company boasts a strong client base of more than 400 organizations, including major names like LinkedIn, Verizon, and Shopify.

By integrating Skilljar’s learning solutions, Gainsight plans to offer real-time, contextual training that helps users adopt products more efficiently and achieve greater value from their investments. The combined platform will allow companies to meet customers where they are—within their workflows—using AI to deliver insights and guidance proactively.

This acquisition marks Gainsight’s fifth since 2018, reinforcing its ongoing strategy to elevate the customer experience through targeted innovation and strategic expansion.
