Intuit Expands AI-Powered Intelligence Across QuickBooks

Share

Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU), one of the world’s largest financial technology platforms, revealed an increase in the scope of the Intuit Intelligence setup covering the products intended mainly for mid-size market. The unveiling of the updates is the arrival of new AI functions in Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES) and QuickBooks Online Advanced, backed by Intuit Intelligence Chat, a conversational tool that gives personalized financial analysis, proactive insights, and automated actions all through the organization’s data.

The new features fulfill the increasing needs of mid-market financial managers and accountancy businesses, which request state-of-the-art ERP functionalities that shorten month-end closings but still allow administrative control and data understanding to be maintained.

Bringing Agentic Intelligence to Daily Finance Workflows

As artificial intelligence takes on a larger role in corporate forecasting, compliance, and cash flow management, finance departments require transparent and governable tools. Intuit Intelligence Chat operates directly within the platform, allowing chief financial officers and controllers to query variances, surface operational anomalies, generate financial reports, and trigger back-office workflows using natural language prompts.

To ensure auditability, the system resolves high-confidence routine transactions under user-defined business rules while flagging exceptions for human review. Intuit Intelligence Chat provides actionable recommendations but executes tasks only after receiving direct user authorization.

“Finance teams need AI they can stand behind when asked how a number was reached,” said Ashley Still, EVP and GM, Small Business and Mid-Market, Intuit. “That’s true whether you’re a high-performing business on QuickBooks Online Advanced or a complex, multi-entity organization on Intuit Enterprise Suite. Our latest innovations give finance leaders the industry-specific depth and instant insights they’ve been asking for, built into the way they already work.”

Reshaping Accounting Firm Operations and Advisory Services

Accounting professionals are leveraging Intuit’s agentic AI layer to streamline client service delivery. Accounting firms can deploy customized software agents built on the Intuit platform to automate reconciliation tasks and accelerate book closing processes aligned with their specific practice workflows.

“This is a pivotal moment for small and mid-sized businesses. Intuit‘s AI and modern ERP innovation is fundamentally reshaping how firms operate and deliver value,” said Jordan Fladell, Partner, Technology Advisory, Aprio. “As early adopters, Aprio is helping define how the CPA profession will operate through 2030 and beyond  advancing how firms deliver insight, efficiency, and value to clients.”

QuickBooks Online Advanced: Consolidated Operating System for Lean Enterprises

For fast-growing companies seeking to maintain lean operations, QuickBooks Online Advanced consolidates bill payment, automated bookkeeping, business intelligence, and payment processing into a single subscription. The platform incorporates a complete accounts payable suite featuring Bill Pay Elite, which includes unlimited ACH transfers and automated 1099 e-filing at no extra subscription cost for direct customers.

Redesigned KPI scorecards track revenue trends, gross margins, and cash positions in real time. These metrics feature class-filtering capabilities and detail drill-downs that automatically update across management dashboards and platform-wide AI insights as financial records change.

“We save around 16 hours a month using AI functionality and workflow automations in QuickBooks Online Advance,” said Logan Wright, General Manager, Select Door & Hardware.

Intuit Enterprise Suite: Scaling Multi-Entity Operations and Industry Workflows

Intuit Enterprise Suite continues its expansion into complex mid-market environments, introducing multi-entity accounting enhancements in beta. The system automates intercompany closes using recurring transaction templates and standardized account mappings, while historical-entry AI models draft intercompany entries for human review and approval.

Global operations are further supported through a single multi-currency permissioned rate table that logs rate updates and applies consistent calculation logic across all standard reports. To simplify system transitions, Intuit Enterprise Suite enables rapid onboarding, with 95% of business migrations completed in 30 days or less.

Additionally, the suite expands specialized capabilities across key industry verticals:

Construction: Delivers real-time job costing, project profitability tracking, and AI-driven estimation capabilities that flag budget overruns before they erode profit margins.

Manufacturing & Inventory (Beta): Features multi-level bills of materials (BOM) and flexible units of measure, enabling teams to purchase, stock, and sell inventory in varying units while assembling products from nested sub-components.

Nonprofit Organizations (Beta): Introduces Balance Sheet by Dimension reporting, helping finance directors track restricted funds and grant allocations with complete financial transparency.

“One of the biggest roadblocks for a CFO in construction is visibility,” said Scott Franchini, Partner, RedHammer. “What IES brings to the table, especially with its native AI, is the ability to quickly see budgets, actual versus budget, billings, and gross profit on a specific project.”
