Banking technology innovator Matera has released their Payment QR Code software, which is the industry’s first solution fully conforming to the ANSI X9.150 Merchant-Presented Payment QR Code Standard just issued. By resolving the long-standing challenge of a lack of an interoperability system on the United States payments landscape, the system makes it possible for banks, billers, and payment processors to provide consumers with a secure, standardized method of account-to-account (A2A) payments through a QR Code. The consumers can get a mobile banking app certified and authorise instantaneous payment through them by scanning of an X9.150 QR code, which takes money from the payment source to the destination across disparate payment networks, like RTP FedNow Zelle Network, ACH credits, and stablecoins.

Unlike vulnerable static web-redirect codes, Matera’s software integrates digital signatures backed by X9 Financial Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to verify transaction requests and prevent fraud prior to settlement, alongside supporting dynamic invoicing, tip customization, partial settlements, and future-dated payments. Highlighting this shift, Carlos Netto, CEO of Matera, stated: “Payment QR codes have transformed the payment experience around the world, yet the United States has lacked a common interoperability standard. X9.150 provides that foundation. Our Payment QR Code platform gives banks a practical way to implement a single QR code standard while preserving the flexibility to support multiple payment methods.”
