Western Digital Strengthens Customer Collaboration with Advanced SIT Lab Expansion

Western Digital has opened its new, expanded System Integration and Test (SIT) Lab in Rochester, Minnesota a 25,600-square-foot lab that will help speed customer success through growing AI and cloud storage needs. The lab is optimized to accelerate qualification of future-generation high-capacity HDDs, providing faster time to value to help customers deploy storage solutions with optimal density and efficiency. The AI revolution made one thing obvious: storage is the backbone of the AI data-driven economy and HDDs are its backbone,” stated Ahmed Shihab, Western Digital Chief Product Officer. “But our customers require more than rock-solid storage, they require a trusted partner who innovates with them.”

The SIT Lab is an open collaboration environment where Western Digital engineers collaborate with customers in every phase of the product life cycle, from creation to end-of-life. Combining with the company’s worldwide network of testing labs, the Rochester lab extends in-magnitude testing, customer interaction, and innovation, while solidifying Western Digital’s decades-long history of community investment and AI and cloud infrastructure advancement.
