Baker Tilly Partners with Ode and Anthropic to Expand AI Across Tax, Audit and Advisory Services

Share

Baker Tilly is setting up a strategic venture with Ode and Anthropic wanting to accelerating the use of artificial intelligence in many services provided by the partnership. These services include advisory, taxation, and assurance.

Based on the release notes, the collaboration wants to build AI systems or solutions that will add to the professional knowledge and skills of Baker-Tilly while at the same time assisting the firm in delivering a much efficient and reactive client service. Baker Tilly explains that while there is a possibility of automation in most of these tasks, some of them still require the presence and judgment of a human expert.

For example tax audit, and advisory work involve not only identifying potential issues and recommending the most suitable solutions but also understanding different regulations and being guided by the standards of the profession to carry out the work. These require a good deal of human input and expertise which cannot be completely replaced by even the most sophisticated AI tools. As such, the firm sees automation and productivity-enhancing tools which have limited capabilities as inadequate when it comes to handling such critical business functions which cannot be fully automated.

Along with the cooperation of Ode, Baker Tilly has decided to develop and implement the AI systems in their company’s operations which are compliant with Baker Tilly’s internal rules and regulations. It is expected that these systems will reflect directly the skills and styles of Baker Tilly through extending those capabilities through the technology. In addition, by working together human specialists and the AI tools, Baker Tilly wants to elevate the decision making process in business to a whole new level, get their processes done more efficiently, and produce their work as better as possible to fully satisfy their customers.

Partnership Focuses on Responsible AI Deployment

According to Chris Taylor, CEO of Ode, the future of professional services will depend on firms that successfully integrate artificial intelligence with deep industry knowledge.

“The future of professional services will be shaped by firms that successfully combine AI with deep domain expertise. Baker Tilly is building AI systems around the expertise of its professionals to enhance the client experience,” Chris Taylor said.

Baker Tilly emphasized that the initiative is focused on augmenting-not replacing-the expertise of its professionals by providing AI tools that support complex, judgment-intensive work.

Enhancing Client Service Through AI

Eric Miles, CEO of Baker Tilly, said the firm views artificial intelligence as an opportunity to strengthen the way professionals deliver high-value services across tax, advisory, and assurance engagements.

“At Baker Tilly, we are investing in AI to strengthen how our people deliver the complex, judgment-intensive work our clients trust us to do. Working with Ode gives us additional technical depth and speed as we build AI capabilities around our professionals, methodologies and standards, with a focus on enhancing quality, insight and responsiveness for clients,” Miles said.

The companies did not disclose a timeline for deployment but indicated that the collaboration will focus on creating AI-powered systems tailored specifically to Baker Tilly’s professional workflows, supporting employees while maintaining governance, compliance, and quality standards across client services.
