Zamp Launches AI-Driven Sales Tax Operating System Backed by $30M Funding

Share

Zamp has officially introduced Zamp OS, positioning it as a purpose-built operating system for sales tax compliance. Alongside the launch, the company announced it has secured $30 million in total funding, with the latest round led by Acrew Capital and participation from Thomson Reuters Ventures, along with investments from accounting firm partners.

The launch comes at a critical time for the accounting industry, as a significant portion of the workforce approaches retirement while compliance demands continue to rise. Zamp OS addresses this challenge by enabling accounting firms to deliver fully managed sales tax services without building dedicated internal teams. The platform is already in use by more than 120 firms, including Withum, Anchin, Frank Rimerman, Larson Gross, Iron Clad, and Crew Finance, achieving a 97.8% client retention rate in 2025.

“Thomson Reuters Ventures invests in innovative companies that align with our strategic objectives and the markets we serve. In accounting and tax compliance, firms are facing a talent shortage and the work is not slowing down,” said Tamara Steffens, Managing Director, Thomson Reuters Ventures. “Zamp has built a vertically integrated platform where AI agents empower tax professionals to work fast and guarantee the outcome together. That’s the infrastructure layer this industry has been missing, and we are thrilled to work with the Zamp team as they lead the way.”

Vertically Integrated Platform with Guaranteed Outcomes

Zamp OS is designed as more than a traditional software solution, functioning as a fully integrated compliance infrastructure that owns the entire process—from registration and filing to notice management and tax research. By combining AI agents with in-house tax and legal expertise, the platform delivers end-to-end execution with a guarantee on accuracy, including penalty coverage in case of errors.

“Three years ago we were only a managed service. Today, we’re an operating system — and the difference is infrastructure,” said Rohit Bhadange, CEO and Founder of Zamp. “We source our own tax data. We own every workflow. We deploy agents across every step with tax professionals there when it matters. That’s the part people get wrong about AI. It doesn’t replace the team. It gives them leverage. That’s why Acrew Capital and Thomson Reuters Ventures are backing us to scale globally.”

The platform’s architecture is built on a proprietary tax data layer covering more than 12,000 jurisdictions, allowing Zamp to maintain control over workflows and deliver high-accuracy outcomes.

“When we evaluated the tax compliance landscape, most of the new entrants were building automation on top of third-party data — the same approach the incumbents use, just with a modern UI. Zamp took a fundamentally different path. They built their own tax data layer across 12,000-plus jurisdictions, own every workflow from registration to filing to notice management, and pair AI agents with real tax professionals at every step. That vertical integration is what separates infrastructure from software — this approach provides higher-fidelity outcomes for customers and a durable long-term advantage for Zamp, which is why they can guarantee the accuracy of every filing they touch,” said John Gardner, Partner at Acrew Capital.

Scaling Compliance with AI and Real-Time Visibility

Since its inception, Zamp has processed more than $300 million in sales tax, completed over 100,000 filings, and managed more than 75,000 notices with a 99.97% accuracy rate. The platform now supports compliance across more than 100 countries and has increased productivity per compliance resource by 12 times—helping firms scale operations despite workforce constraints.

Zamp OS also addresses one of the most time-intensive aspects of tax compliance—data preparation. By automatically ingesting, cleaning, and validating historical filings and fragmented data sources, the platform significantly reduces onboarding time, enabling firms to activate new clients within days rather than weeks.

Transparency is another key differentiator. The system provides real-time visibility into every step of the compliance process, allowing firms and clients to track filings, decisions, and status updates. Access is offered through embedded integrations, a centralized partner dashboard, or Zamp’s MCP interface, which connects compliance workflows directly into existing tools and AI environments.

“As an advisor who works closely with taxpayers navigating the complexities of sales tax, we consistently recommend Zamp. Their deep expertise, responsiveness, and unwavering commitment to supporting Withum’s clients make them an exceptional partner. Zamp’s team goes beyond compliance — they provide the clarity and confidence our clients need in an increasingly complex tax environment,” said Courtney Easterday, MSA, SALT Senior Tax Manager, Indirect Tax at Withum.
